Noida Airport sets target of 40 daily domestic flights by July

Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar is scaling up operations, targeting 40 daily domestic flights by July 2026 as it transitions out of its opening phase. Developed under a 40-year concession by Zurich Airport International, the facility is designed to significantly take structural passenger pressure off Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airport also handled its first domestic cargo flight in June, managed by Air India SATS, serving as a precursor to commercial passenger operations. Initial passenger traffic will feature a baseline schedule of 140 weekly flights connecting the NCR to five domestic hubs: Amritsar, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jammu and Navi Mumbai. By July, the network is expected to grow to 18 domestic destinations, bringing daily air traffic to the 40-flight threshold. Regulatory focus will subsequently shift toward securing final clearances to launch international passenger and global cargo operations before December 2026, according to a report.
