THE Tata Group’s Air India and Saudi Arabia’s newly launched national carrier, Riyadh Air, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a comprehensive commercial partnership. Subject to regulatory approvals, the agreement will introduce strategic codeshare and interline arrangements. This will allow passengers to seamlessly navigate both networks using a single booking itinerary, leveraging the geographical strengths of Air India’s hubs in Mumbai and Delhi alongside Riyadh Air’s base at King Khalid International Airport. Beyond network connectivity, the two full-service premium carriers will explore deeper integration across digital technology initiatives, cargo services, operational support and reciprocal loyalty program benefits. The alliance is strategically timed: Riyadh Air is expanding its global footprint ahead of its inaugural commercial flight to London Heathrow on July 1, 2026, as per a report.
