Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd, has announced that it has been named ‘Cold Chain Service Provider of the Year – Asia Pacific’ at the prestigious 10th Payload Asia Awards. This recognition demonstrates the confidence Hong Kong customers have in AAT’s ability to handle perishable and pharmaceutical airfreight cargo to the highest standards, emphasised a release.
The AAT COOLPORT is a purpose-built facility in the SATS ecosystem, replicating Asia’s first cold chain facility SATS COOLPORT at Singapore Changi Airport. Since its inauguration in July 2022, COOLPORT has garnered widespread acclaim from customers, partners and the industry for its innovative features and dedication to meeting the evolving demands of the market. AAT works alongside airline customers and logistics partners to gain an understanding of their cool chain needs and provide tailored solutions, further optimising the transportation routes of temperature-sensitive goods.
Fully certified with IATA CEIV Pharma, IATA CEIV Fresh, WHO GDP Pharma, ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP accreditations, COOLPORT offers a dedicated temperature-controlled zone, encompassing all aspects of the cargo handling process, from acceptance and delivery to build-up and breakdown, security screening, and storage.
The facility’s unique features, such as temperature-controlled truck docks with dock shelters, on-site x-ray screening at the correct ambient temperature, multi-tiered temperature zones down to -28°C, ensure the integrity and efficiency of the cold chain process, the release highlighted.
