Cargo terminal operationalised at Jaipur airport

The cargo terminal at Jaipur airport, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities with a capacity of 2,300 metric tonnes, became operational on August 1. Indigo Airlines has already been onboarded and it will now operate its entire domestic cargo business from the new cargo unit at Terminal 1, it is learnt. The airport administration has received all necessary government permissions and approvals from state and union regulatory agencies. The tariff and other rate cards to operate the cargo unit are fixed by the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) of India. The facility includes three truck bays, three dock levellers and two forklifts. The new cargo unit includes separate office spaces for airlines, related staff and a centralised AC system. The facility has a strong room, cold storage and dangerous goods storage area, all built as per prescribed norms, said a report.
