Tolga Biga takes new position as head of the Türkiye, Middle East and Africa (MEA) Country Cluster for UPS

UPS has announced that Tolga Biga has been appointed as the head of Türkiye and MEA Country Cluster including Türkiye, the Middle East and UPS-owned operations across Africa. He will be responsible for overseeing small package operations and driving business development and strategy throughout this vital region.

Türkiye is home to some 1,500 UPSers and 19 UPS facilities across the country. Thanks to direct air connection from Istanbul, UPS is well positioned to support Turkish companies in their international ambitions.

The company is particularly dedicated to supporting Turkish SMBs. UPS Turkey has been conducting specialised Export Academy and Women Exporter Programs in the past few years, sharing knowhow and guidance to over 9,000 exporting business owners.

As the Middle East has enhanced its status as a global logistics hub, Tolga’s role will also include developing and facilitating trade and working towards advancing the company’s capabilities to enhance the sector’s growth in this part of the world.

A Turkish native, Tolga joined UPS in 2002 as an Account Executive in Turkey where he then became Area Sales Manager before heading up ground transportation in the country. He then held a range of operational roles of increasing responsibility across Europe including Project Manager for UPS’s new London Hub and Air Division Manager out of East Midlands Airport in the UK.

Most recently he served as Vice President of Region Air Operations in at UPS’s Air Hub at Cologne/Bonn airport in Germany. There he focused on operational improvements and productivity increases at UPS’s largest international operations. He successfully led several expansion projects securing the future of the air network and enhancing the operational capacity of the facility.

Tolga will report to Kim Ruymbeke, the new President, East EMEAI. She will oversee the strategic direction of UPS in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Central Europe, Türkiye, as well as Middle East and Africa. Her leadership will be instrumental in bringing together teams across these diverse regions to ensure continued growth and excellence in service delivery, said a release.
