THERE are massive opportunities in the vibrant Indian aviation market, said Mr Willie Walsh, Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), on the sidelines of a recent event. He highlighted that there are CEOs of two Indian airlines (Air India’s Campbell Wil-son and IndiGo’s Pieter Elbers) on the Board of Governors of IATA, the first time this has happened. The industry is excited about the fu-ture of aviation in India, he emphasised. He also doubled his forecast for profitability in 2023, predicting a net income of $9.8 billion across the 300 airlines the lobby group represents, as per a report.
