IndiGo mulls flight operations from Sikkim’s Pakyong Airport

IndiGo Airlines is likely to commence flight operations from Sikkim’s Pakyong Airport in October. Pakyong Airport Director, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, mentioned that the airline and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) are currently assessing the commercial viability and conducting data analysis for the potential routes. He revealed that IndiGo plans to operate flights connecting Pakyong Airport with Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. In addition, Nepal’s Buddha Air has expressed interest in launching daily flights between Kathmandu and Pakyong, though it is still awaiting approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Talks are also ongoing with other airlines like Blade Air and Jetwing regarding potential operations from Pakyong Airport this year, as per a report.
