Boeing is predicting a recovery in the air cargo sector during 2020 after the industry last year posted its worst performance since the 2009 global financial crisis.
Boeing has predicted in a 20-year forecast of aircraft and commercial aviation services for South-East Asia that the wheel is about to turn.
In the air cargo sector, after declines in 2019, global freight volumes are projected to recover in 2020 due in large part to solid industrial production and world trade. Over the long-term, air cargo is projected to grow 4.2 per cent through the forecast period.
Worldwide, Boeing projects the need for 44,040 new commercial aircraft valued at $6.8 trillion and the demand for aftermarket services worth $9.1 trillion over the next 20 years.
