Finnair mulls re-launching Helsinki-Mumbai service

Finnair is evaluating the re-launch of its Mumbai service even as it flies daily to Delhi. It sees India as an important market, and its aim is to resume the route as soon as the capacity situation allows it, said Finnair’s General Manager (India) Anupam Vig. Finland borders Russia and has been amongst the most impacted due to the closure of Russian airspace. This has resulted in an increase in flight times to Asian destinations and forced the airline to rework its business plans. Finnair flights from Helsinki to Delhi take around 90 minutes more than usual as they avoid Russia. Travel between India and Finland is increasing too, said a report.
