A new platform that claims to allow freight forwarders, airlines and ground handlers to get hands-free visibility of cargo and automate their warehouse operations has been launched.
The Cargocast platform tracks each cargo piece using RFID, pinpointing cargo in a warehouse within 2 ft radius.
Using this location data, processes that previously required human interaction, such as goods acceptance, can be fully automated—which helps prevent errors and increase efficiency. Cargocast is backed by Tiger Global and its clients include a “leading European ground handler and a top-five freight forwarder”.
Digitisation of cargo operations is non-optional if logistics providers want to meet the quality and speed needs of today’s shippers, stressed a report.
