Delhi International Airport is likely to emerge as the second largest airport in the world after Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the US, said Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia while speaking at a recent event. He outlined that efforts are being undertaken to make Indian airports emerge as international hubs for commercial aviation, with Delhi International Airport being the first candidate to become an international hub. In terms of infrastructure development in the airport sector, he highlighted that in the next three to five years, capital expenditure of about Rs 98,000 crore will be undertaken, of which Rs 20,000 crore to 25,000 crore worth of investment will be undertaken by the Airports Authority of India, as per a report.
