The Adani Group has announced its strategic entry into the airport ground handling sector, further solidifying its presence in the aviation industry. Having successfully operated eight airports, including Mumbai International Airport Limited (CSMIA) and Navi Mumbai International Airport, the Group is now poised to broaden its scope within the aviation ecosystem following the Turkish firm Celebi Airport Services India Pvt. Ltd. being asked to withdraw from the Indian market.
A new entity will be established to pursue significant contracts at major airports. The Adani Group will compete with established players such as AI SATS, Bird Group and Indothai, aiming to secure contracts, particularly in Mumbai and other key airports, through a competitive bidding strategy.
The Group plans to invest over ₹10,000 crore in airport infrastructure and services in FY26, focusing on areas such as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), cargo, and ground handling. This development can significantly influence the airport operations landscape and enhance service quality across India’s aviation sector, highlighted a report.
