Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has marked a significant milestone as a global trade and logistics gateway with the arrival of its first dedicated international freighter flight, operated by Hong Kong Air Cargo from Hong Kong.
The service will operate three weekly flights between Hong Kong and Navi Mumbai, using an Airbus A330-200F freighter with an approximate cargo capacity of 60 tonnes for import and export shipments.
As part of NMIA’s wider international cargo ramp-up, 13 new freighter services are expected to commence operations, strengthening connectivity with key markets across Asia, Europe and West Asia.
With phased, scalable and tech-enabled cargo infrastructure designed for domestic, international, express and specialised shipments, NMIA continues to strengthen its role as an integrated logistics and trade gateway for Maharashtra and Western India, emphasised a communique.
