While freight forwarders and logistics providers welcome the announcement, industry leaders stress that a full return to predictable trade patterns and lower operating costs will take time. The Airforwarders Association (AfA) noted that while the framework—scheduled for an official signing on Friday, June 19—promises vital economic relief for global businesses and consumers, immediate operational clarity is urgently needed. Freight forwarders are seeking specific details on how free passage through the waterway will be enforced, how naval blockades will be systematically dismantled and how lingering security threats, such as sea mines, will be cleared before normal cargo flows can safely resume, according to a report.
