Freightos has launched a partnership with Visa and Transcard to bring a new point-of-booking payment solution that enables instant credit approvals, flexible payment terms, and direct access to Visa’s virtual card technology and global banking network, all embedded directly to the world’s leading air cargo booking platform.
The freight forwarding industry has long struggled with cash flow constraints, which particularly impact smaller freight forwarders. These businesses often face a cash flow gap–paying carriers upfront while only receiving payments from customers 30-90 days after delivery. The new Freightos-Visa-Transcard payment solution closes this gap by offering flexible credit terms at the point of booking, allowing forwarders to grow their businesses with simple, seamless and affordable credit options, and helping avoid expensive accreditations or guarantees that limit cash flow.
“Liquidity challenges are a daily reality for freight forwarders across the industry,” said Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos. “By embedding Visa’s payment capabilities directly into WebCargo by Freightos’ booking platform, together with key support from Transcard and Oatfi, forwarders can access flexible credit the moment they book. This helps them pay carriers on time, manage cash flow efficiently, and grow their business, reflecting Freightos’ mission to make global trade smoother.”
“At Visa, we’re focused on building the future of payments through secure, scalable and intelligent commercial solutions,” said Darren Parslow, Global Head of Visa Commercial Solutions. “Our partnership with Freightos reflects our commitment to advancing the industry, leveraging our technology and expertise to help businesses streamline operations and grow with confidence in a rapidly evolving global market.”
“Transcard’s payment and working capital orchestration platform combines with WebCargo by Freightos and Visa’s capabilities to provide seamless access to credit within the WebCargo workflow,” said John Garden, EVP Transportation at Transcard. “This gives forwarders flexibility to grow their business, pay carriers on time, and simplify the entire booking and payment process.”
This new point-of-booking payment solution is also supported by OatFi’s API-first infrastructure, which helps offer forwarders competitive, flexible payment credit terms while automating the end-to-end payment workflow. The result is a fully integrated, automated payment experience embedded directly within the booking process that offers adaptable due dates and effortless access to working capital financing when and where forwarders need it most.
“Forwarders need payment flexibility that matches the pace of global freight,” said Mike Barbosa, CEO at OatFi. “OatFi’s underwriting, reconciliation, and capital markets infrastructure embeds directly into Freightos’ WebCargo platform, enabling forwarders and carriers to transact on the terms that work best for them. Together with Visa and Transcard, we’re delivering a fully embedded, scalable payment experience that helps forwarders manage cash flow while ensuring carriers are paid on time.
”As an early beta user of the new payment solution, Groove Global Logistics has already seen the impact firsthand. “Signing up through WebCargo by Freightos’ platform was incredibly easy, and we were instantly approved for a Visa-powered credit line—no bank guarantee required. With a generous limit, competitive pricing, and flexible terms, this credit line lets us take on bigger opportunities, pay suppliers on time, and offer better terms to our own customers,” said Jeff Schumacher, CEO at Groove Global Logistics.
Together, these capabilities create a fully integrated, automated payment experience embedded directly in the booking process, offering adaptable due dates and effortless access to financing when and where forwarders need it. This unified credit solution combines booking and payment in a single platform, eliminating reconciliation headaches and giving forwarders complete visibility throughout the transaction lifecycle, highlighted a release.
