Akasa Air has announced a firm order for 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at WINGS India 2024, in Hyderabad. With this, the airline becomes the first Indian carrier to reach a firm order book of over 200 aircraft within 17 months of launching operations. It was also the first major aircraft order announced by an airline at an Indian airshow. The latest order, comprising 737 MAX 10 and 737 MAX 8-200 jets, will provide the airline a steady aircraft delivery stream through 2032, cementing the company’s domestic and international expansion plans.
Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, said that these additions to the fleet will help it bolster the strength of its operations as it expands its footprint and foray into international skies very shortly, as per a report.
